Safe Period Behind Bars

Summary

This is a capacity building training for female inmates and female Warders. The project officially commenced in January, 2020 and seeks to train these women on safe Menstrual Hygiene Management behind bars. The project will also empower 2000 women across correctional facilities in Nigeria to make and sell reusable sanitary pads.

To achieve this, our organization partnered with Daniel Iroegbu Global Health Foundation (DIGHF), an organization that works in affiliation with Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) under the United Nations Office on Project Services to improve water, sanitation and hygiene and also to support women and girls to manage their menstruation.  So far, we have provided this training for over 150 women who are currently behind bars.

This project will empower over 2000 women across correctional facilities in Nigeria to make and sell reusable sanitary pads

I wanted to thank Ausra for the haircut she gave me, I was very pleased with it, as was everyone that I met with today; it turned in to a great day of never-ending compliments!

Pall Mall Barbers are always on point. Apart from it being the best haircut/beard trim, I have had the staff are friendly, engaging and always make you feel welcome. It’s always an appointment I look forward to.
